I just got my newest subscription to EW in the mail yesterday which is the summer movie double issue. i’ve already marked my calendar (yes I’m that anal that I have a specific color on my calendar for media related stuff) for the release dates of those I’m interested in. There’s nothing THAT great coming out this summer. I’m interested in seeing how Star Wars turns out as well as the new Batman and Skeleton Key OF COURSE but other than that there’s not much. Some of the stuff looks decent but I wonder if it’s worth the time or money invested to go to the theater to see it. Wal-Mart is already getting my $13.68 a month, I should just get my moneys’ worth there.

i finally ended up using my Amazon gift certificates from my birthday and Christmas. I decided not to spend it on music for obvious reasons. Or movies because we buy those anyway. Honestly, I’m running out of movies to buy. Books are out because I can go to the library cause it’s not like I’m ever gonna read the same book again. So I finally decided on a magazine subscription and make-up – not interesting but i’m excited about my buys.

To those living in the D.C. area: AVOID CHESAPEAKE SEAFOOD HOUSE AT ALL COSTS. We went down there for the all-you-can-eat seafood of equal or lesser value and were shocked at the very ethnic crowd gathered. We should have known by the lack of newer foreign cars that this wasn’t our type of place. The crowd was spilling on to the sidewalk and into the rain. There were SO many people in there I actually had to say ‘excuse me’ to get to the hostess – who wasn’t paying attention to anyone, neither was the other hostess nor the manager. The people beside me had already been waiting for 45 minutes and had complained of a bad experience the last time they were there, plus people were rubbing up against me.

Shudder, I was still shaking off the disgustingness of the close proximity to strangers that after 5 minutes of waiting we bailed and headed to Olive Garden – which turned out not being much better. Disenchanted and still squeamish from the gropings we headed to Wendys for some fries and a Diet Coke to hold us over. This took FOREVER too and there was only 1 person in front of us, then the lady working the drive-thru must REALLY love her job because she was SO rude to us. (I’m extra nice to fast food workers because I worked it for 2 years and it SUCKED so what’s with the hostility.)

Once we finally got back on 95 with our cold fries, there was horrible traffic – it was NOT like the lights of a thousand fairies. People were slamming on their brakes and then braking after they got back up to speed again. It took us an hour an a half to go to Woodbrige for all that drama and then get back and go 2 miles from home to finally end up at Red Lobster (Casey was craving clams and I wanted shrimp). We knew we didn’t like Red Lobster, yet we decided to give it another try. Why oh why did we pass up the crab house a block back to go to this place. These places out here need letter ratings for cleanliness (last night at Chili’s an ant was crawling across our table – ew).

I guess I should have added ‘summer blockbuster’ to the poll because of the lack of anything good right now.
