{"id":1886,"date":"2010-02-15T18:03:34","date_gmt":"2010-02-16T00:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/68ba7cb72d.nxcli.net\/?p=1886"},"modified":"2010-02-15T18:03:34","modified_gmt":"2010-02-16T00:03:34","slug":"fever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caseyandkelly.com\/?p=1886","title":{"rendered":"Fever"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brady woke up at 5 this morning burning up.\u00a0 I thought it was just because her door was shut (as it always is) and that she was in fleece pjs (which she has been in 99% of the time this winter) so I started feeding her but she was so hot that she was making me hot.\u00a0 I got out the thermometer and tested it three times and her temp was running between 102.6 and 102.8 each time.\u00a0 We were out of Tylenol but gave her some Motrin and she fell back asleep for another couple of hours.\u00a0 When she woke up at 7 her temp was still 101 but she was acting normal and playing and laughing and talking and eating.\u00a0 I called the pediatrician&#8217;s office at 8:30 and spoke to the nurse who told me I could alternate Motrin and Tylenol and since she was still eating and behaving normally that we should stay at home.\u00a0 They do want to see her in the office in three days if she still has the fever and no other symptoms to rule out a UTI.\u00a0 At 9:45 I tried laying her down for a nap to no avail, she started crying right away.\u00a0 Since I was still tired, her and I went back to bed and took a 3 hour nap.\u00a0 I woke up before she did and had I not gotten out of bed she probably would have kept sleeping.\u00a0 I checked her temp again and this time it was 103.8.\u00a0 We had slept through when her next dose of Motrin was due so we gave her that and then put her in a lukewarm bath to bring her temp down faster.\u00a0 Casey went to Walgreens before leaving for walk and got Brady some Motrin so she&#8217;s had a dose of that too and so far her temp has been staying down.\u00a0 She&#8217;s holding steady at 99ish right now.
