A couple of weeks ago, we visited the Austin Zoo with some our friends Zack, Jenny, and Ethan.\u00a0 Initially, Casey wasn\u2019t crazy\u00a0about\u00a0the idea of visiting the zoo.\u00a0 He hates animals being out of their natural habitats and locked in cages for people to see (he had similar feelings about the\u00a0circus),\u00a0 but was pleasantly surprised to learn the animals are all rescued.\u00a0 Despite the heat, we all had a really great time and the kids got into all of the animals and the train ride.\u00a0 While the zoo lacks the many of the exotic animals typically associated with zoos (elephants, hippos, giraffes, etc), I love and respect their mission to provide homes and rehabilitate animals.<\/p>\n
