to the vet.\u00c2\u00a0 Casey took Dude to the vet on Monday because we thought he was surely falling apart.\u00c2\u00a0 For the week before he’d been closing his squinty (brown) eye more so than usual and sleeping, we’re guessing because it relieved any pain he was having.\u00c2\u00a0 Sunday, we were doing yard work out back when Dude started rubbing his face to scratch it on everything – the deck, the grass, the dirt, everything.\u00c2\u00a0 His face ended up turning bright pink and swelling up.\u00c2\u00a0 At least double, if not more, the normal size of his face.\u00c2\u00a0 His eyes were so swollen he couldn’t see food that was right in front of him and was running into walls.\u00c2\u00a0 Then he broke out in hives, so he was just a mess.\u00c2\u00a0 Casey took him in and apparently he had an ulcer that was irritated by his lashes growing inward on his squinty, left eye and on his right he apparently got something in it when we were outside and that just made his head swell and break out in hives.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s on eye drops, two different eye ointments pills, and then a solution and pill for his ear allergies as well.\u00c2\u00a0 Argh, good thing I’m working!\u00c2\u00a0 Poor little guy is being quite the sport.\u00c2\u00a0 He doesn’t like the ointments very much and I wouldn’t either.\u00c2\u00a0 His swelling and hives have gone down so hopefully when he goes back on Monday all will be well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
