{"id":273,"date":"2008-05-02T11:59:19","date_gmt":"2008-05-02T18:59:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/68ba7cb72d.nxcli.net\/blog\/?p=273"},"modified":"2008-11-18T08:34:32","modified_gmt":"2008-11-18T15:34:32","slug":"surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caseyandkelly.com\/?p=273","title":{"rendered":"Surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Casey took Dude to the vet for another follow up appointment on his eyes on Monday.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s on another round of drops\/ointments for his eye and was referred to an opthamologist.\u00c2\u00a0 So on Tuesday, Casey took Dude to the opthamologist (who also works with the Denver Zoo) and got the consult (surprisingly not free).\u00c2\u00a0 $110 later, the vet said that Dude does indeed need surgery on *both* lids of *both* eyes.\u00c2\u00a0 I guess that stimulation check will be going to work right away.\u00c2\u00a0 Because bullies have breathing problems, he wants to do the surgery in his Denver office to ensure he&#8217;ll have the right equipment and special anesthesia he plans on using.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m not thrilled its going to be $900 but the alternative is Dude going blind and I&#8217;m a lot less thrilled about that.\u00c2\u00a0 They weren&#8217;t able to get him in until the 12th, so hopefully there isn&#8217;t a lot of recovery or post-op care needed since he&#8217;ll be staying with my parents that coming weekend while we&#8217;re in Virginia.\u00c2\u00a0 Fingers crossed he has a successful surgery without any complications!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My company is getting super strict and micromanaging us even more as of last week.\u00c2\u00a0 Since we&#8217;re on paper, fully staffed (even though all of us are always busy all of the time and were getting overtime without even trying) we&#8217;re no longer able to have overtime.\u00c2\u00a0 But if you have to stay late on a day, then our boss doesn&#8217;t like us leaving early on another day, we have to extend our lunch or something instead.\u00c2\u00a0 :(\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;d much rather work the hours I need to work to get the job done and save any overage I might have till Friday and leave early.\u00c2\u00a0 But that&#8217;s just not allowed here, unlike ITT.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re also required to take a 30 minute lunch every day and have to get permission to take an extended lunch even though we&#8217;d have to clock out anyway and wouldn&#8217;t be paid for it.\u00c2\u00a0 Then, they&#8217;re also getting fussy about the spacing of our lunches and breaks and starting and stopping time.
