Where’d the weekend go?\u00c2\u00a0 Ugh, I’m back at work today glad it’s Tuesday at least but bummed to be back so soon.\u00c2\u00a0 The weekend went by way to fast.\u00c2\u00a0 But at least the day after the day after tomorrow we leave for St. John so that’s getting me through!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Friday night Casey and I celebrated our SEVENTH anniversary (which was actually yesterday) by going out to dinner at Palapa’s Surfside.\u00c2\u00a0 The name really throws people off at what kind of restaurant this is.\u00c2\u00a0 When we passed it the first time, Casey and I assumed it was supposed to be like a tiki bar kind of place.\u00c2\u00a0 But in fact, its a pretty upscale seafood restaurant.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The Gordon Ramsay in us\u00c2\u00a0quickly addressed whythe place wasn’t busier – poor location (behind Village Inn and across from Kohls)\u00c2\u00a0with a decor that screams tiki bar yet with a prix fixe menu, and not so great service.\u00c2\u00a0 Even still, the food was really good and between the two of us we sampled a good portion of the menu.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Saturday, we planned doing the deck but as you can tell from Casey’s post (below) that didn’t happen.\u00c2\u00a0 We’re hoping Marvin and Sally will be able to drive out and help us out some time this summer.\u00c2\u00a0 The deck was a really big selling point for us, so I’m sure it’ll be for other buyers too.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m really dreading the added expense but unless there’s another fix for the rotten boards then I’m at a loss.\u00c2\u00a0 Then that night we went to Hooters to watch the UFC fight.\u00c2\u00a0 We got there earlier than we did for the last fight hoping that we wouldn’t have to wait.\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately\u00c2\u00a0we still had to wait and the first seats available were on the porch – covered with plastic, but only at the top – and even though its the end of May, it was way to cold to sit outside.\u00c2\u00a0 The waitress finally felt pity\u00c2\u00a0on me and the girl behind us and turned on the overhead heater for a short while, but being so cold still took some of the enjoyment out of being there.\u00c2\u00a0 Hopefully next time it’ll just be hot and won’t be a problem.\u00c2\u00a0 For me.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the family came over to BBQ and to celebrate Dude’s first birthday (which is actually today).\u00c2\u00a0 Casey got to try out his new rib racks which worked out really well, as he an now smoke six racks at one time!\u00c2\u00a0 We had a lot of great food and conversation and I have a ton of pictures to post of the day!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yesterday, we saw an early showing of Iron Man.\u00c2\u00a0 I need to just stop giving\u00c2\u00a0any resistance to watching certain movies that Casey wants to see because I always end up liking them as was the case with Iron Man.\u00c2\u00a0 Afterwards we had lunch at Panera and then went to Best Buy and used our $50 gift card they sent us for buying an HD-DVD player.\u00c2\u00a0 Between three different coupons and the gift card we bought Superbad and Juno on Blu-ray and still have $8 left over!\u00c2\u00a0 Other than that, we just spent yesterday doing laundry and getting stuff together for our trip.\u00c2\u00a0 Three more days!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
