This week marks 27 weeks pregnant *and* the start of my 3rd trimester!\u00c2\u00a0 Thirteen more to go!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
I haven’t heard back from my gestational diabetes (GD) testing yet but if the results are bad then I expect to hear back by Wednesday.\u00c2\u00a0 The fifth blood draw on Monday was by yet a different tech (there was three in all) and she was too rough and ended up giving me a hematoma.\u00c2\u00a0 My arm was pretty sore and bruised when I left but some ice managed to get the swelling down and now I have a lovely bruise coming to life.\u00c2\u00a0 I have my doubts as to the competency of the techs at the lab with all that I’ve read online and other stories I’ve heard.\u00c2\u00a0 Now if my results come back that I do have GD, I’m more inclined to think it’s lab error and not me.\u00c2\u00a0 Especially considering my LOW blood sugar rared up on the way home.\u00c2\u00a0 I had to pull over before I made it home because I was getting really hot and starting to black out.\u00c2\u00a0 Not such a great thing to happen while you’re driving.\u00c2\u00a0 My mom managed to talk me through getting pulled over and could tell it was getting bad when I started getting hot and stopped talking.\u00c2\u00a0 Once I was safely pulled over I took a couple of glucose tablets (which I always keep in my purse for such occasions) and was feeling fine again within a few minutes.\u00c2\u00a0 My dad called Casey to have him meet me (I wasn’t even that far from home) to verify I was ok enough to get there and my mom came over to see the hematoma and if it needed anything other than ice.\u00c2\u00a0 It didn’t.\u00c2\u00a0 Not such a fun way to spend your Friday night and now I’m just anxiously hoping that the doctor’s office doesn’t call to say I failed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
