I finally got through all the building and I had a semi-operational system until I had to reboot so I could use the new kernel. Somehow my ethernet card isn’t being detected on boot. SOOO I rebuilt my kernel and added all the drivers that I could find that I thought would work with the card. So I rebooted again and it still can’t find my damn card. I don’t know what is going on. I’m beginning to wonder if this is worth all the work I have to go through to get this distro up and running. I have been reading on the Gentoo Forums that this distro when stripped down of everything that you don’t need can run on a 66MHz processor with 32MB of RAM. Now that is low-end. Now that I kinda know what I’m doing though I may start over and rebuild the whole system. I want to see if I can get my kernel under 1MB, right now its at 1.6MB so too big to fit on a floppy.

We didn’t do cardio today, some little old man ran up and jumped on the bike that I was going to get on while I WAS STANDING NEXT TO IT. So we just decided to come home early. Then we met Blake at The Sun Spot for tanning.

We are getting ready to eat some dinner, and watch Smallville. Yay new episodes!! Then maybe a movie or head to bed early. We can’t seem to get up early to go to the gym if we don’t get to bed before midnight. For instance we slept until almost 12:30 today cause we didn’t go to bed until almost 3 in the morning.

We finally got a decent rain shower today it needs to keep it up and rain every afternoon like it used to, get us out of this damn drought.

Gentoo is driving me crazy.
