5 pounds, 8 ounces, 18.5″

Up 75 grams from night before! Brady took 3 out of her 4 night feedings by bottle last night and took a full bottle for Nana this morning!

I said yesterday that one of the pediatrician’s thought we’d be taking Brady home next week. Well Brady’s primary pediatrician was in here this morning and she said she thought it’d most likely be before her due date (2/24) but didn’t specify when. Next week wasn’t even mentioned. Last night she lost 25 grams. We were told this is pretty common because when she breastfeeds she burns more calories and the milk isn’t fortified with extra calories like it is when she’s given a bottle or is on the pump. She knows how to eat it’s just a matter of her doing it without getting too worn out and burning precious calories. Fingers crossed Brady gains weight tonight and last night was only a minor setback.

For the last two days, Brady has exclusively breastfed for all three feedings we were at the hospital. The nurses did not use her tube at all to supplement. Plus she took two full bottles for the nurse so she took five of her eight feedings without the tube. Once she hits all eight, she can go home! Because I don’t have a meter built in to me, it’s hard to tell how much she gets when she breastfeeds, so we keep praying it’s enough to satisfy her and that she gains weight. The pediatrician told us today she thinks Brady will be going home sometime in the next week!

Weight = 5 pounds 6.4 ounces

As of her last weigh in, Brady is now a whopping 5 pounds! One of the pediatricians stopped by today to say that they would be doing an ECG tomorrow. Apparently the doctor thought she might have heard a murmur but couldn’t be sure without the echo. She said it’s probably nothing but if it is a murmur it’s nothing to be considered about at this point because most times they go away on their own. Keep your fingers crossed it’s nothing!
