I went to the UPS Store today to return the food processor I bought for making homemade baby food, which Brady won’t eat, to Amazon. I thought to myself that I would still use it for other things but the main thing I thought I’d want it for (making salsa), it does a less than stellar job at. The tomatoes were all frothy and too pureed for my liking. So back it goes, I don’t need the extra space in my kitchen being taken up by something I’ll never use. And I’m sure I can find *something* to spend the money on that we actually need/can use.
I think I’m going to be in for a long night tonight with Brady. She slept 10 hours last night, took an hour nap this morning, took another hour nap around noon, then woke up from a 2 hour nap at 5. At least she’s in a good mood so far.
These are some pics that Robin sent me from their visit last month, as well as pics from last weekend visiting Alison in Denver, and yesterday during tummy time at home.
Today was the first time I used Freecycle. I’ve only ever used Craigslist (as far as a local way) before to get rid of things. I listed the dog run and some floating concrete deck block things on both just hoping to get rid of the stuff ASAP. Freecycle ended up annoying the hell out of me with their formatting rules and only getting one response for each item. On Craiglist I got 62 responses between the two items and some guy offered to come pick up everything within the hour! So our backyard is just a little bit more orderly today which is a relief!
Today Brady went “swimming” for her first time! She was sitting up so well by herself on the patio but the sun was hiding behind the house and made it a bit cold, so when we moved the pool to the rocks it got a bit uneven and I had to hop in the pool with her (in my clothes). We bought the pool last summer for Dudey and he likes it ok doesn’t really lay down in it just to lay but will walk in it and drink it. He thought he was entitled to go swimming with Brady too but as you can see, she loves it AND him!
This is pretty much a day in the life sort of picture post. The first pic shows her in her jumperoo after her morning feeding, then swimming (although) that was later on this afternoon, then in her pjs, and finally eating dinner (chicken and apples again – bah to green beans). Enjoy!
So the food processor has ended up being an epic fail. That sucker is going to back to Amazon because other than the rare batch of salsa (which I’m obviously more than capable of doing without a food processor), I just don’t see us using it. Store bought baby food it is.
Just for kicks I looked up the value of the townhouse we had in Stafford on Zillow. While I know it’s not entirely accurate, I’m sure it’s somewhat close. At least within, oh say, $100K. We sold the townhouse in 2006 for $333K and on Zillow the value is down to $196K. Good thing we got out when we did!
I almost forgot to post about Dude’s tail. When the vet was performing surgery he was pleasantly surprised he was able to salvage his tail, minus some tissue. The doctor was able to trace the drain track down from the surface to the other end and found that it was being kept open by hair that was growing inward into the cyst. A similar deal to what happened with his eyes with the hair growing inward into tissue. The vet sent off a biopsy of the tissue to confirm his suspicions but is fairly confident the problem is taken care of now. His butt and three paws have large shaved patches on them and look red and angry. He seems to be feeling better today, although he’s obviously not 100% yet. Hopefully he’ll have a speedy recovery!
