OK so here I sit in my hotel room in Stafford, VA wondering what today will bring. It seems that every site that they send me too is a test of my will. I haven’t been to a site yet that went smoothly. No I take that back I have had ONE site that went smoothly and we finished it in one day. But all the others seem to be missing crucial parts and supplies that we need to finish the sites. BLEH. So its about 8:20 in the morning and we are waiting on a FedEx package that was supposed to show up last week, but it contains ALL the contents that we need to finish the rest of the sites that we have scheduled for this week.

I was hoping the company would cancel my trip this week due to Isabel and power outages, but no such luck. But I did get a lot of interesting information yesterday, so I’m fairly happy about that.

I managed to burn ALL of my minutes on my phone in 4 days while I was in Cali, but it looks like I can get reimbursed for it, so I’m not so pissed off anymore. And Apple delivered my original Powerbook order last night. So Technically Kelly and I have 3 Powerbooks right now, but alas we have to send the other one back. I just have to call Apple today and get them to send out some labels so we can ship it back, so unfortunatley I don’t even get to open it.

My Powerbook is working out fairly well so far, I haven’t run into any problems. The only thing that sucks is that sometimes the Finder gets all crazy and doesn’t allow anything to launch, but I think that is going to be addressed with Panther. It also doesn’t like dial-up that much, this 28.8 connection is killing me right now, but its all I got. Right now I’m trying to send out my daily status report but of course I cant’ use Mail because you can’t connect to Adelphia’s SMTP server unless you are on the Adelphia network (POS). GRRRRRRR. I HATE ADELPHIA.

OK I need to wrap this up so I can get to work, hopefully the package will have arrived but probably not. So we will have to come back down here later this week.

Taking 7 classes is not so bad, except on Mondays. These are my long days when I get to come home for about an hour between each class but am pretty much at UCCS from 9:15am-10pm. Today wasn’t so bad but now I’m starving and don’t have much time to make anything too involved. But I’m not complaining…much, cause it’s so worth it.

I actually went for a bike ride on Friday after class with my mom. Well she walked and I rode. We were both worn out after the exercise. It’s a lot different than the bikes at the gym. This was only the second time I’ve ridden my bike since getting it. I need to start riding it more I just prefer to do so with other people.

Mom, Jim, and I went to see Dickie Roberts on Saturday. There were a lot of funny parts that poked fun at child stars, especially the song during the credit. It was pretty cold when we got out of the movie and started raining and my parents even got some snowflakes at their house. Typical Colorado weather cause it was 65 yesterday and 80 today.

The countdown until Las Vegas continues. There are 24 days and a wake up until we leave for Vegas and 26 for my birthday (or if you would prefer 3 1/2 weeks)!!! Hope to see a lot of you there! 😉

Well we finished up Santa Anna, CA today. Tomorrow we head on up the road to Riverside which is about 50 miles or so from here. We told the site IT person that we would be there at about 7:15 so we gotta jet outta here at about 6 BLEH, what was I thinking.

Yesterday we had a bad SCSI cable so we had to go to Fry’s and pick one up, but just in case it was more then the one SCSI cable I picked up two, as well as a terminator. SOOO I ended up dropping about 150 dollars on parts. Luckily for me it was just the one cable that was bad, so today after we finished up the site we went back to Fry’s and took that stuff back, so I got about 110 back. PHEW!

I tried doing my math test last night, but I hadn’t touched my math book until the day before the test. And since I haven’t looked at math since I graduated HS, I realized that I don’t know dick about anything anymore. And since I have ZERO time management skills I thought it best that I drop the class until I have more time that I can devote to it, I will stay in my other English class since it doesnt’ take much effort on my part to do, although I may change my tune when the time comes to write my first paper. I wish I was more like Kelly or Justin in that respect, writing comes easily for them. Not me.

I gotta go get some dinner, and then finish up todays Status Report, then get some sleep cause I’m gonna try and burn through the site tomorrow and see if we can get it knocked out in a day. Perhaps we can move up to LA a day early, at least there would be more to do up there. Not like I go a do anything anyway, but at least I can see more things from my hotel room window. 🙂

Here I am once again sitting at the airport waiting for my flight out of town. I have been traveling so much latley I really don’t have time to do anything. Whenever I come home all I get to do is laundry and that is it. I’m on my way back to CA this week to do some of the RAs around the area.

I’m trying to get Justin sent out to me in CA since the clown I have on my team is SO SLOOOW. He took 4 hours to do what I did in 45 minutes. He managed to turn a 5 hour project of configuring Exchange Clusters into a three day affair. GRRRRRRRR.

Kelly has classes this morning so I did some running around while she was at skool to get my stuff gathered up and get some stuff faxed and mailed off. I did find out today that I didn’t have to sign a non-competition agreement with my company so I can go on to other companies and work on this same contract. So that kinda made me feel better about this whole gig. And another thing that I’m feeling good about is that I have been selected for a team lead position for the next set of deployments so I will get a little more hours then usual since I have to fill out Status Reports every evening, which takes a while I guess.

I’m seriously thinking about buying a 17in Powerbook in the coming weeks. Apple announced today new iPods and iMacs, but no Powerbooks. There is plently of speculation on what the specs of the new 17 will be. Possibly a G5 (but not likely), it will probably be a 1.33GHz G4 and an updated video chipset. But I have to wait until at least the 16th of this month when Steve-O will give the Keynote address at Apple Expo Paris. So I need some OT from my job so I can afford it. Thank God for student discounts. Also I will probably pick up a pair of iSight cameras for Kelly and I.

I managed to survive my first week of classes this semester, I’m still not in the full skool mode yet, even after two semesters, but perhaps soon. I’m still all pissed off about my last classes.

OK its time to board my plane, type at everyone soon.

We’ve sat at home for most of the day lounging in our pjs. We did manage to do 4 loads of laundry, to Walgreens, and to my parents house. Nothing much accomplished today. We just finished dinner (roast) and are now eating dessert (cherry pie) and have watched Weird Science and Animal House. I have class tomorrow at 9:25 and then have to come back home to take Casey to the airport. 🙁 Will post more later when there’s more to say.

I’m on a roll this week with posting. Guess it’s about time I got back into the routine of posting.

After class yesterday, Mom and I went up to Castle Rock to check out the outlet mall since we hadn’t been in awhile. Now I know why we dont’ make a point to go up there or to Black-eyed Pea where we ate dinner. I could do without going back to either of those. On the way up to Castle Rock Casey called. He was letting me know that he was catching a flight out of NYC through Chicago to Denver and would be there at 10:40 and to show up at 11. Mom offered to go with me and spend time in Denver before he got in but that would have left 4 1/2 hrs before he came in and I knew Mom really didn’t want to (I wouldn’t have either) so I drove her home and then went home myself for a couple hours. Well Casey called to say that his flight had been delayed at wouldn’t be into Denver until 11:20. Good thing I dropped Mom off! I made it up in 1hr 20 min. including the time it took me to stop for gas. Not TOO bad. Lots of money for mileage that his company is going to owe us a bunch.

Today we just took it easy. Casey went and got his haircut and bought Zelda for his GBA. Afterwards, we went to the commissary so I’ll have food while Casey’s gone. The rest of today (Saturday) we just watched movies and relaxed. That’s all for now…

I got approved to take 21 credit hours for the fall. UCCS is so messed up though cause they said I should know by the end of the day I dropped the form off, which was yesterday. So I called this morning and she said that it hadn’t been decided yet and I would be called. Then I decided to e-mail the advisor to find out and he said that they don’t normally call to notify students of getting the approval. He said I could go ahead and register for my classes. Well both of my classes are manual add ons, so I have to have instructors sign off and then they can be added. I have 2 classes that need to be done this way. I called about one of them because I put in the paperwork a week ago and it still wasn’t showing up on the registration page. That’s because I have to go down there to pick it up and then take it myself over to registration. WTF. I guess it was too much trouble for them to tell us that when we dropped it off and inner office mail is just out of the question. Ugh. So now I have to get to the campus early and meet Marla so be can both get this taken care of. Then I have to go to class for 3 hours. Both of my parents have off tomorrow so I’m trying to convince one or both of them to go to Castle Rock with me to look around at the outlet mall.

Casey was supposed to come home tomorrow but apparently plans have changed once again. 🙁 He leaves directly from NYC to DC tomorrow evening and will be working there for a few days. They haven’t given a possible return date for coming home yet so ya never know.

OK here is my update post, since I haven’t posted in awhile.

I have been out to work for two weeks now, in the not so great City of New York. I can’t stand this place, its dirty and expensive not to mention the job site is crappy. We were going strong today when someone came in to tell us the Halon alarm was going off in the server room and he wanted to let us know. This guy looked at the last service tag for the Halon system and it was last serviced in 1984. So we got out of there, and with this delay who knows if we will be working tomorrow.

I have to go to DC next week for another round of email migrations, but it looks like I will only be there for a couple of days, no more then three hopefully. And from there hopefully back home, but it is rumored that we are going to be starting tier 3 sites very soon, so that means on the road “again”. I just hope that I can get a couple of days at home.

I finally got working on my two online classes yesterday, hopefully they will be a little easier then the last two.

I haven’t slept very well these last couple of days, so I’m probably going to bed here in a little bit, hopefully we won’t have to come in tomorrow, and then just work on Friday, and call this place quits. Send in some other guys to finish the site up. All the rest of us have to be in DC come Monday or Tuesday.

I had a lot more to say but I really can’t think of anything right now, isn’t that always the case.

Oh yeah I remember, I somehow broke my laptop and now whenever I do a CPU intensive task, and the fans kick on the whole thing just shuts down. And I don’t htink the warranty is valid anymore so I have to go get it fixed. GRRRRRR.

It’s technically Wednesday which marks the end of my Labor Day weekend. I have to head back to school tomorrow. The good news is there are only 2 classes left this week. I received an e-mail back from advising because I put in a request for a 21 credit hour course load this semester. The response was that based on my G.P.A. there was no reason that I shouldn’t be granted the “overload.” Might as well take as many credits as possible when the classes are so easy and enjoyable.

Saturday, Mom and I went to a matinee of Le` Divorce. I was hoping for more out of the movie but it was OK, worth the cost of the ticket but not buying. The acting of Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts was good, however the storyline tried to cover too much in a short period of time and seemed to lack direction at times. Final thought: wait for the rental.

Sunday, Mom and I went to Circuit City to check out all these sales they were supposedly having. They all sucked. Almost everything on sale at Circuit City, we either already have or isn’t worth the price they are charging. Some of that shit they just need to give away. Then we went to Best Buy, now Best Buy is having some good sales this week, plus we get Reward Zone points. I managed to get Mom’s Reward Zone points for her purchase to, so it’ll really ad up. I bought Wayne’s World 1 & 2 ($20), The Mask of Zorro (superbit), and My Best Friend’s Wedding (2/$20). Great deals! We ran into Vance & Rachel at Best Buy and had a good time catching up with them. We then went to the Shops at Briargate to check out the new shops. Dinner was at Qdoba, which was SO good. I would even go as far as saying it’s on par with Baja Fresh and you know how much I like that. 🙂 Mom rented 11 movies from Blockbuster this weekend (even though she’s a member of Netflix). We watched some new Steven Segal/Ja Rule movie and I’m sure you can guess how that was and then They. They is a pointless movie that doesn’t really even have a storyline. There are no name actors (minus Ethan Embry) and there’s really not an ending either. I guess they’re just leaving room for an endless string of sequels. Ugh. At least they were free for me to watch. 🙂

DVD day! I went to Best Buy and picked up a bunch of new movies including: The Fifth Element, Stand by Me, Weird Science, Ghostbusters, Air Force One, Desperately Seeking Susan (Wal-Mart), and Identity. I was also going to pick up Willow & Entrapment (pricematch) but Best Buy didn’t have them and neither did either Circuit City. I may just order them online before the sale is over. There were 3 DVDs that weren’t in stores today that were either being released on DVD for the first time or the price was being lowered. From DeepDiscountDVD, I ordered Fear, PCU, and Sleeping with the Enemy. Since I’ve been home I’ve just been trying to make a dent on watching all these new movies. Wow, 14 DVDs this week. I need help! 🙂 I just uploaded the DVD Profiler list so you can take a look at all 428 of them!
