Where is my sammich?

Well we haven’t updated in quite some time, except for a few pics of Stoli. So I figured now was a good time.

We have been VERY busy as of late, Kelly is swamped with skool and taxes, and I have been working some long hours. Our schedule at work is pretty hectic and calls for us to do at least 10 hours a day to meet the projected deadline. This week we managed to get one site up and running with about 15 new servers after upgrading their NT 4 PDC to 2K3 Server. Loads of fun. Today we are wrapping up some loose ends with this site, and hopefully next week we will get the other site set up. We are still waiting on hardware from EMC so that I can begin SAN configuration but it looks like it won’t arrive until at least some time next week. This does me no good because Kelly and I are leaving for LA on Thursday night and then leaving for Hawaii early Friday morning.

This whole EMC configuration has me all bent out of shape due to the fact that the clowns that designed this layout left before I can on the project and now I have to pick up the pieces and make everything work. I have already done a major redesign of what was already layed out, making it simpler and more fault tolerant, but still the system that we are deploying is overkill for this organization.

Stoli is doing great, although she did get me up two or three times last night to go outside. She is still a little crazy but she is slowly mellowing out. I really hope that she will be good while we are gone and not cause to much trouble.

Tax time is upon us again, and this year Kelly and I are freaking out of the whole mess. We will be taking our taxes somewhere this year to get done professionally. We have so much strange stuff this year with acting deductions and charitable donations and multiple state income tax filings, etc, etc. Perhaps this weekend we can get it done and find out if its going to be good news or bad news. But we are hoping for the best.

Kelly and I have been picking up new toys to replace those that we stolen in LA. Just the other night we picked up a pair of new iPods and a new Gameboy DS (to replace my SP). I also may have posted this already but I scored a new Dell Inspiron 600M for about 50 dollars out of pocket to replace my aged PC laptop that was also stolen. And the week after I purchased my Windows laptop Apple released their updated Powerbooks (boooo no G5), so as soon as we get back from Hawaii I will order a new 15in Powerbook. I picked up a copy of Virtual PC 7 for Mac for 30 dollars from a friend of mine that works at Microsoft, and I also hope to get a copy of VPC 2004 for x86 so that I can once again start studying for my MCSE, by creating virtual networks, reading the books usually just puts me to sleep so I need to get some hands on training to really learn the material.

OK its time for lunch, and then I have to make some phone calls when I get back. I’m trying to decide if I really want to stay until 6 tonight. The OT is nice though.
