I’m sittin’ here on the couch watching my second movie of the night. I’ve watched Erin Brockovich and now Rounders. I was reading online on the Amazon sellers’ forum that the book Doyle Brunson’s Super System is sold out EVERYWHERE and people are making a TON of money on it. The guy that posted this found copies at the Borders near him for $30 and then resold them for $149.99. Nice! I called all around to the bookstores and couldn’t find it. I even contacted the publisher and nothing. Matt Damon actually mentions Doyle Brunson and takes his money out of his Doyle Brunson’s Super System at the beginning of the movie.
Casey and I went to one yard sale today. However, this guy was NOT selling stuff at yard sale prices. His DVDs were $10 each and CDs were $5 each. Damn! Can’t make any money at those prices. Apparently he sells at the Flea Market so he knows what they can go for so he’s making the max possible without selling online. The only good thing this guy had was Pee Wee’s Playhouse the box set. He was selling it for $20 and it can be resold for $35-70 depending on which set he had. I don’t remember. We might end up going back tomorrow.
Randi called today while we were driving around. They all made it home ok and are now in the process of moving to their new place. They are selling their house and moving into an apartment while they finish up school. Randi is seriously thinking about doing photography instead of nursing but hasn’t decided yet. She’s gonna give it the summer. I’m really happy for them! I’ll get to talk to her again next week when they get their new phone hooked up.
I stopped by UCCS today to take care of the rest of my loan paperwork. The sad thing about filling out the paperwork was they never once asked for any ID or anything to verify I was who I said I was. Anyone can go in there and take out a loan in someon else’s name. That’s kinda scary. My mom says that’s the difference between a private university and a public one. Maybe she’s right but I don’t want to spend the extra money on a private school. I managed to get things taken care of while I was there. When I got home I was able to register for my summer classes. I’m taking 2 this summer both communications classes. I was really surprised when I called up the bookstore and the lady gave me the ISBNs for the books I need over the phone. PPCC never did that because they KNEW you wanted to get them online and of course they’re right. I was able to get both of my books off Amazon for cheap, $40 total. I also had to orded Casey another history book because it’s been 3 weeks and his book still isn’t here. He e-mailed the chick and she’s supposed to refund us the money. I’m anxious to see when that’ll happen. Until his book gets here, Casey is just going to make due with my old book that’s 2 editions older than the one he needs. We went down to PPCC today and I was able to pick up my diploma. It’s in a little protective leather folder thing for all of my hard work. I’m just glad that part of my schooling is over with. Although, I’m sure it’s been easier than what’s ahead.
My mom and I went to the gym alone today. Jim went home early today with a sinus headache and Casey went out to Dallas’ before they were gonna start gaming. He’s still out there playing right now and called to say he was having a good time. We rode the bike for 30 minutes and then worked on legs. This is legs two days in a row for me so I’m pretty sore right now. Good thing we don’t work out on weekends. I’m gonna head to bed as soon as the movie is over.
