First post in (apparently) 5 days…

Friday, Casey and I both had the day off. Casey was supposed to be going to D.C. and leaving today to be there for work for the next 2 weeks. But you know how his job is, an hour after they made the reservations and sent out itineraries they cancelled the trip. Oh well, just more time for him to sit on his ass and collect a paycheck. Friday night, Dave, Robyn, and Rebekah came over for dinner and a movie. We had chicken parmesean, garlic mozzarella bread, and wine (red and white). While waiting for dinner we were watching the World Poker Tournament so decided to carry the theme over to the movie we watched, Rounders. Rebekah wasn’t feeling very well and was a little fussy (still cute though) so they left after the movie.

Saturday we celebrate Mom & Marvin’s birthday at Guiseppe’s (restaurant in a refurbished boxcar next to the train tracks). We celebrated Mom’s birthday early because Casey never knows when he’ll be called to work. Remember Dallas in April. It’s kinda funny that my Mom chose Guissepe’s to eat at like a month ago, because one of my newest friends, Marla, that I take classes with at UCCS works there. She was nice enough to make reservations for us in her section. We even got our own little room cause we’re such a loud group. We had a good view of a couple making out on the car. This was hilarious stuff, Grandma and I were leaning across the table so we could see out the window (there was a wall in our way). This couple was almost definitely having an affair. No one kisses like this. First, they started kissing and the guy pinned the woman against the car, then he started hanging on to the roof rack (station wagon) to keep his balance. Then he started to kiss her neck as she was grabbing his ass and trying to make her way into his pants pockets. There was a brief pause and she gets into the car. Well before you know it, all you can see of him is one foot. Now, I wonder what he was doing, if you could only see one foot. After another 5 minutes or so they finally parted and she took off in her station wagon and he walked across the street to his car. Marla was the best server EVER. She stood there and talked to us for a long time and brought us pitchers of everything everyone was drinking. What more could you ask for? We took some good pictures on Mom’s camera that I’ll try and post soon.

After lunch, Casey and I went to some bicycle shop to look at bikes for me. He’s getting an almost brand new one from Dave. The guy told me the size of bike that I need and had me sit on it to make sure, but they are all out of my size so we’ll still have to wait. We’re hoping that Dave will be able to go with us pretty soon so we can get a decent bike (mountain/road). I could ride to school but the shitty thing is that I heard you have to pay for a parking pass for that too. Ugh. UCCS is raping me!

This morning we met my parents at the theater to see Pirates of the Caribbean. I didn’t have high expectations or really want to see it in the first place so I was pleasantly surprised. It was a pretty good movie, however some of the dialogue was cheesy or just ridiculous.

Since we got out of the movies around 2, we’ve been sitting here with the fan directly in front of us. Casey’s been working on his school work and I’ve been looking through alternate classes I could take in the fall and planning out the rest of my courses till I graduate (I hope in fall 2004). We’re getting ready to head to my parent’s house and the solace of air conditioning, for dinner and a movie.
