It’s taken me being sick to get back into posting again. I started getting sick on Tuesday morning and am probably the worst I’ve been today. It’s a good thing I had the day off. I went to the doctor yesterday to see if I had strep throat and the culture came back negative. While I was there I asked if I could get a flu shot and the doctor said it would be fine because I wasn’t THAT sick. He didn’t even give me any antibiotics. 🙁 This has to go away. I can’t be sick right now with getting ready to move and finals and the holidays. It just isn’t the time.
I’m bummed because I was hoping to get a ton done this week and it just hasn’t happened. I have been getting quotes from movers. So far we don’t have anything packed up but we hope we can get it done before Christmas.
Grandma had surgery on her knee on Tuesday. I haven’t been able to visit her since I’ve been sick but I did get to talk to her on the phone today. She’s doing good now and should be able to come home on Saturday if everything continues going well.

On Tuesday after taking a test, Casey and I ran a few errands and left for Missouri and got there around 10pm. On Thanksgiving, Matt and Julie came and spent the day with us. We had a yummy meal and good company. That night, Marvin & Sally went and picked up Camryn so we were able to meet her for the first time. She was such a happy baby, even though she was sick. Donna was in town and she and Carol came out to visit as well. That means we’re going to have seen Donna three months in a row. On Thanksgiving night, Matt, Julie, Casey and I went into Kansas City to a riverboat Casino. Warning: Kansas City casinos are NOTHING like Vegas. It is mandantory to get a player’s card in K.C. so we all had to wait in line to get one. You might as well have to have an anal probe to get inside. Then after getting your ID checked by a psycho that wants to insure that you look EXACTLY like you do in your ID. This chick made me smile (with teeth) and the poor guy in front of me had to give her a profile and almost didn’t get in cause his hair was longer. After all that, a security guard checks your ID. When you try to play a slot machine you HAVE to use your player’s card. They are seriously losing some business by not letting people just put money into their machines. We have no intentions of trying to earn comps so why use our card. We probably won’t ever go back so what’s the point. Then at the table they check your ID again. The drink chick came by after like 20 minutes and when she came back she said that’ll be $1.50. WTF. After the initial shock, Casey tried to hand her a $5 chip to pay. She said they only accept cash and stood there until he tipped her. On a better note, we did make $200 on blackjack. Can’t complain about making money. But the excitement didn’t stop there. This group of chicks past us and it sounded like she said “Matt” so we got Matt’s attention and we all turned around and she was standing there with a scowl on her face going “What.” We were all confused as to what was going on and kept on walking. Right before we got to the door to go to the parking lot, this 40 something hick and 5 foot nothing black guy come up to us and are like “why’d you call my wife a slut.” We’re like “WHY THE HELL WOULD WE CALL YOUR WIFE A SLUT? WE DON’T KNOW YOU!” He’s like that’s what I thought but wanted to make sure. So we all walk away, them back into the casino and us towards the parking lot and see that the group of girls has come closer and were insisting that we did call her a slut. We look back once we’re outside and they’re following us to the car. Julie and I are freaked out that this is happening and are walking ahead to the car. We all get in the car and lock the doors as security is rolling through the parking lot. What kind of people follow you out to your car?! We’re suburban Gap kids, we’re not used to that!
On Friday Marvin and Sally asked us to go to Target and pick up a gift for Cami. It wasn’t as bad as one would think for being Black Friday. There weren’t any good sales so we weren’t planning on going to the sales. That afternoon Mike and his friend and Lora and Lew came out to visit us before we went home. It was good to be able to see everyone before leaving since we won’t be back for awhile. We got back from visitng Marvin & Sally in Missouri on Saturday around 6am. We had a good visit and it was good to have all of Saturday to get things done before Casey leaving on Sunday.
Now I’m just sitting here watching the Real World Las Vegas. More later…
