HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALLY!

Stoli had her first vet appointment yesterday and did very well. She has some anxiety with strangers right now so the two times we’ve taken her in PetSmart and then at the vet yesterday she won’t move and we end up having to carry her. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to do that seeing as how she weighed in at a whopping 26.4 pounds! I’ve read muscle weighs more than fat so that must be what it is. The vet was very nice and cares for several other English and French bulldogs so was very knowledgeable about the breed. Stoli got her rabies shot which she did not like at all and then her kennel cough the vet dripped into her nose. Thankfully, everything about her checked out alright.

Potty and crate training is not as easy as we expected. I guess I’m just too used to being around dogs that are already trained. We’re working to get her on a schedule to see if this works out. I’ve been putting her in her crate for 10-15 minutes at a time a few times a day to get her accustomed to it, she just whines and cries until she can get out. She takes after her Aunt Tasha and does happy pees. The potty training is all about small victories, if she goes outside at all we’re happy. She’s gone once today but I’m starting to wonder if she piddled and I just didn’t notice it. Right now she is sleeping on my feet which seems to be her favorite pass time. She’s such a mama’s girl and is just so sweet!

A little overdue but the thought is there still the same, congratulations to Mandy who is expecting her first child sometime in August! Rachel and I are at odds as to what the sex will be but we’ll see how it all turns out.

Tomorrow Stoli and I are going to go up to Pennsylvania (more time in the car, I know) with Rachel and Lexi to pick up Rachel’s new cat. Ugh, I forget the breed but I think it’s Egyptian something or other. I’m just hoping she doesn’t bail on the dog, if so Stoli won’t have anyone to play with, she’s afraid of cats right now.

Saturday, all of my classes were finally synched so that I could access them online. It looks like this should be an interesting semester considering I’m supposed to have a proctor (?!) administering my exams (sounds like a job for Rachel). I don’t know why they’re doing this because all of the community college courses I have taken through the same program have been open-book (which I looove). I’m actually gonna have to read the book. 🙁

Casey started working 10 hour days yesterday so he hasn’t been getting home till almost 7. Hopefully he’ll still be liking his job in a few weeks after he’s been working all those long hours. The good news is – overtime pay!

Final note: I don’t know if we posted this or not but we FINALLY got our reimbursement check and all of the paperwork so we can start replacing stuff. Yeah, it’s about time. Casey’s already ordered him a new Dell laptop but I’ll let him give the details on that.
