Inspired by an emailed suggestion, this post is going to be a sort of day in the life post. Although every day varies somewhat this kind of gives you the framework of my day. All times are rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. Brady is 11 weeks old today.
0030 – Fully swaddle, turn on womb bear and Brady is finally asleep.
0430 – Wimpers and starts grunting louder. Change diaper. Feed Brady.
0530 – Brady back in bassinet asleep. Pump and read book.
0600 – Take milk downstairs and bag, wash pump parts and whatever bottles are still in the sink, water plant upstairs, get meat out to thaw for dinner.
0630 – Go back to sleep
0830 – Change diaper, feed Brady
0845 – Brady sleeping
0900 – Casey’s work call gets canceled and he comes up to get Brady while I get uninterrupted sleep.
1130 – Wake up, eat, Casey feeds and changes Brady – she takes almost 4 ounces.
1145 – Pump.
1215 – Brady sleeping, bag milk, put individual bags in large Ziplok to organize freezer, pull oldest frozen milk bags to thaw for bottles. Sterilize pump tubing and parts (weekly thing). Wash dishes, clean bottles, fortify milk and bottle up for next 24 hours (big girl – 3.5oz bottles), . Leave message with oxygen company to see if they’ve received doctor’s orders for overnight oxygen test on brady – they still haven’t, call doctor’s office again who confirms they faxed last thursday but will refax. Oxygen company calls back to say will be out here tomorrow to drop off pulse oximeter.
1300 – Feed Brady and she falls asleep while holding, go online
1400 – Pump.
1430 – Bag milk, take Stoli to check the mail (the dogs alternate days checking the mail.), wash pump parts and dishes in sink, eat lunch, take out trash.
1515 – Change Brady’s diaper, tummy time (she didn’t roll over again this time), use aspirator on her nose.
1530 – Give Brady her vitamins, feed her, change diaper, hange outfit (she peed on it), apply Nistatin to neck (she gets neck cheese in her rolls) to dry it out
1615 – Brady sleeping, pump, go online
1645 – Bag milk, wash pump parts and dishes in sink, feed and water dogs
1700 – Take shower and get dressed
1745 – Clean dog faces and ears, watch TiVo
1900 – Watch TiVo, eat, feed Brady
1930 – Brady sleeping, pump, watch TiVo
2030 – Change diaper, feed Brady, bake cookies, wash pump parts, make bottles from thawed milk
2100 – Watch TiVo (which since rebooting from within TiVo it’s been working as good as new!)
2200 – Feed Brady
2230 – Brady sleeping, get ready for bed, do dinner dishes, water downstairs plants, feed and water dogs
2300 – Brady wakes up, eats a little more, fusses, change her diaper, try to get her to sleep
2345 – Brady finally asleep, pump
0015 – Bag milk, clean pump parts, make this blog post
0030 – Go to sleep
I think her total sleep time in the last 24 hours is between 15-16 hours. As is normal, Brady’s sleeping and eating amounts seem to vary from day to day but her eating seems to be increasing as her sleeping decreases.
