Going, going, almost gone

It’s been really busy around here lately. A lot busier than I’d like, that’s for sure. And it’s only going to get more chaotic before things calm down. Friday, Casey was at the house in Austin to get the septic inspection done. All looks good on that thankfully and now we’re just waiting on the final report. Then Saturday, he got the home and termite inspections done. Brady and I stayed around here most of Saturday but did go over to my parent’s in the afternoon for a few hours to spend time with everyone.

On Sunday, Brady and I drove up to Denver to have lunch with Alison. We went to an Italian restaurant, Brio, that opened pretty recently in the new outdoor part of Park Meadows. It was really nice to be able to spend some more time together before we leave. Life has never allowed us to live near each other for very long so after she just moved back to the area, it was hard knowing that I’d be leaving again soon but we’ve definitely tried to make the best of the time we were in the same place!

Yesterday, I took Dude to the vet for his annual exam and vaccinations. Well actually, just one vaccination was all he was do for and his heartworm test which came back negative. It’s really hard to corral him and try to get the car seat at the same time. After giving it a go, I finally just ran him inside and asked the people in the office if they could watch him while I got Brady out. If it’s possible, I think Dudey was even a little more hyper than usual and would not stay still. As the vet was wrapping up with Dude, he was asking how Brady did with him. I told him they were best friends and lowered Brady down and as if on cue, Dude walked up and gave her a kiss! I think yesterday’s visit was the fastest I’ve been in and out of that place. Casey’s been taking the dogs in by himself for nearly two years now between me working and then with Brady. I think the reason my visit was so much shorter this time is because all of my questions and concerns about the dogs I used to save up for the vet, I now unleash on the pediatrician. 😉

Then, yesterday afternoon I had an appointment to get new tires on the FX. I was cautioned before Casey left about driving in bad weather since the tread on the tires was pretty much nonexistent so we figured it’d probably be a good idea to get new ones put on just in case we hit weather on our trip. My mom picked Brady and I up so we were fortunate to be able to spend more time with her yesterday as well.

Today was supposed to be a relaxing day but it ended up being anything but. I realized there were lots of little things I still needed to get done around here – cleaning, packing, organizing, etc. My mom came over after work and hung out and helped with Brady which was a big help and I don’t think I could have gotten nearly as much done without her here. And my dad came over after work to help with disconnecting the propane tank from the grill, draining the oil/gas out of the lawn equipment, and breaking down Brady’s equipment the rest of the way. We’re supposed to be getting a snow storm tonight but unless we get snowed in, the movers should be here at 8am to start packing us up and then loading the truck on Thursday. I still have quite a few things on my list to do before calling it so I should wrap this up and get to it.
