Trying again

My (what I consider) success at blogging in October, has been negated by my lack of blogging in November.  Since it’s been so long and a lot has happened, this will be a bulleted post.

  • 11/3 – stuff delivered.  After everything was unloaded Casey and I had lunch at Long John Silvers before picking up all of our stuff and the dogs from Justin and Robin’s.  Then I headed home and Casey went to work.  Lana came over to help unpack and we made good progress on the living room and kitchen.
  • 11/5 – fridge, washer, and dryer delivered.
  • 11/6 – Robin came over to help unpack the master bedroom.
  • 11/7 – Fence installed.  It doesn’t encompass the entire property but at least the grassy portion and some trees.
  • 11/9 – Garage door opener installed (we’re locked down now!).
  • 11/9 – While garage door opener was being installed, the dogs were outside.  As the installer was finishing up, I put Brady in her jumperoo and Dude started barking at her.  I looked at his face through the door and his face was all swollen and puffy.  I loaded Brady and Dude into the truck and just drove because I knew there was a vet close.  Well I didn’t end up spotting the one that’s less than a mile from here so just kept going till I found another one I knew of (still only 5 minutes away).  They got him in right away and gave him two shots to help taking down the swelling and hopefully prevent it from getting worse.  He was also vomiting bile as of the night before.  It was assumed if he stopped vomiting that it could be related to the puffy face, if not, then it would be a separate event.  The swelling did end up going down and Casey and I assume that he got into a huge fire ant mound at the far edge of the yard.  I guess it just wouldn’t have felt like home to Dudey without meeting a new vet.
  • 11/10 – Comcast installed our cable and internet.  I’m still shocked that we’re connected again and only 9 days from the first of four calls (it took three hours).  They’re giving us some crazy package with lots of freebies for locking in the price so hopefully I didn’t get scammed and everything is copacetic.  I had to prepay the installation and first month’s service or it wouldn’t have gotten installed until today.
  • 11/11 – Today – Happy Veteran’s Day!  I went to Lowe’s today and got credited for a 10% off coupon that arrived the day our appliances were delivered.  They were nice enough to apply the 10% discount to both transactions we did last week and the new stuff I bought today.  I planned on buying Brady more pjs today.  Monday, she had both big toes sticking out the foot of a pair.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get a pic before I cut off the feet but I did after.

I’m sure there’s more than I’m forgetting but that’s all that I can think of for now and it’s getting late.  Things are starting to feel more normal and like home.  So far no complaints about Austin other than my family not being here and hopefully they’ll be here SOON!  Pics to come soon!
