At it again

I had to take Dude back to the vet again today. It’s been a
month and I guess he feels overdue for a visit. Yesterday (and
Casey thinks maybe for a day before that too) Dude hasn’t been
quite himself. He’s been doing a lot of sitting and laying (more
than usual) and just doesn’t have as much energy. And we noticed a
spot on his head last night similar to how the one that started the
tumor looked like in the early stages. Plus, he cried when getting
off the couch. Wouldn’t you know it? This morning I’d say he was at
about 85% and getting better with each passing hour. But I had
scheduled the appointment and figured I’d keep it just for peace of
mind in case something worse was developing. It turns out he’s
fine. The doctor said he couldn’t find anything wrong with him
other than the spot. He even got out a black light to see if the
spot was ringworm again and nothing came up. The light is only 40%
effective and I suspect it is indeed ringworm again. He offered to
remove it under a local block which would be $100 less than the last time (under general anesthesia) or to let me continue with some topical lotion that they gave me the last time.  We opted for the lotion and are just going to wait and see how things go.  As far as the crying, Dudey might have twisted something or laid on his side wrong or something because his eyes, ears, heart, hips, spine, everything looked good.  AND the doctor said he wasn’t immuno compromised – imagine that!  So while it sucks there was yet another vet visit, it could have been worse.
