Extreme Ways

It was 72 yesterday and a welcome change for us, but of course as typical Colorado weather would have it its snowing and cold today. Since March and April are our worst months for snow, there’s really no spring in Colorado.  It goes from winter to summer to fall for like two weeks and then back to winter again.  Yesterday we had the family over to celebrate the March birthdays (Grandma and John) since they John has been cleared to go back to work on Monday and will be gone for 4-6 weeks. Casey outdid himself again and barbecued ribs, t-bones, fillet mignon, and buffalo burgers. After eating, my parents, John, and myself played Rock Band for about an hour while Casey and Grandpa took naps and Grandma was our groupie.

Today’s been pretty uneventful. Casey’s been working since last night and pretty much hasn’t stopped. I’m hoping he’ll be able to swing an extra day off next week because of it but we’ll see. I had every intention of trying to finish up my library book, “The Appeal” by John Grisham, before its due on Wednesday but have gotten distracted getting ready for the week ahead.

Apparently USAA is still waiting to get some sort of resolution on the guy who hit the FX. They sent an email to us saying they were still working on it but I’m getting kind of frustrated since its been over two weeks now. Luckily things weren’t worse than they are.

Everything’s going good at work. The lady that’s training me told me that she was talking with my boss and had said she didn’t know who was training who. She said because she had been there for 10 years and I was teaching her new stuff. Its pretty funny and it seems as though I’ve already proven my worth. With a major recession looming, getting the new job couldn’t have come at a better time.
