Fixing My Deck

So its looking like I’m  probably going to have to replace my entire deck.  I just can’t remove a single board and replace it, as they are mounted in such a way that to remove one board, you would have to remove its partner directly ahead of it, and so on and so on.  Thus to take out one board means I would have to take off every single board. So we went and used the Lowe’s Deck Designer and tried to rebuild our existing deck, from the materials list its pretty outrageous.  So we tried a simpler  design, single tier job, much easier.  We took the materials list over to Lowe’s and the gal over there gave us a rough estaminet of cost.

Needless to say I’m not happy about spending money on a house we will probably live in for less then another year, but when it comes time to sell at least it will be one less thing a potential buyer can ding us on.

Here are some pics so you too can assess the damage.

Kelly and I are going over to Hooter’s later this evening for wings and beers and UFC 84, last time we went we barely managed to get a table as the place was completely packed.

Tomorrow we are having a little barbecue.  I purchased some rib racks at Lowe’s today so I can now easily do 6 racks of baby back ribs in my smoker… assuming they don’t cook to long and all the meat falls off the bone.  Then I may grill up some burgers and or brats.

Then hopefully on Monday we can kick back and relax as its Kelly and I’s wedding anniversary.  We are patiently (sorta) waiting to head to St. John in the coming week.  Since we purchased our new camera look for lots of pics and perhaps some videos to come.  Our villa is supposed to have internet access so assuming I’m not dead of sunburn / alcohol poisoning / shark bite we will have plenty of pics uploaded for all to see.

Sounds like a lot of money. Maybe get a professional opinion from a realtor or appraiser to see if you are going to get a return on your money considering the market is still in a decline?
