How is it that a 30 something has never heard of the term fair-weather? Two guys in my office were talking about sports and she didn’t understand when one called the other a fair-weather fan. They weren’t able to explain it to her in a way she could understand so I finally had to interject that it meant they were there when the times were good (when the weather is fair) and not when times get tough. She says, “Oh, well I’ve heard that before but people always say the whole thing not fair-weather. I didn’t get it.”Â
This same person during the chili cook off they had last month, needed help spelling jalapeno. Not only that, there were about 4 other people that were trying to help her spell it too and none of them knew for sure. One had walked to her computer to Google it.Â
Then this morning she asked what t-z-a-i-k-i was. Someone else walking by was like I think it’s a type of mushroom. So I told her it was tzaiki sauce and is a yogurt sauce with cucumbers. She’s like I’ve never heard of it. I told her it’s what they put on gyros. She’s like I’ve never had those either. The other lady was like yeah, it’s for Heroes and it’s yogurt and cucumbers. Thanks for summing up what I said using poor pronunciation. Geniuses.
