The Matrix?

I’m about to finish up Neuromancer by William Gibson for about the 5th or 6th time. I really think Gibson was a big influence on the Wachowski brothers. There are many, many similarities between Neuromancer and the Matrix Universe. For those that don’t do books but know movies he wrote Jonny Mnemonic (trust me the book is WAY better then the movie). I think someone should write an adapted screenplay from the book (cough Justin).

Another good thing I saw today was the DIY (do-it-yourself) PowerMac. You can order anywhere from a single 800MHz 2MB G4 up to Dual 1.2GHz G4s. Check out the site here. Now these are barebones systems, you have to include a harddrive, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and OS, possibly RAM too, but they are starting at $679. Now if you are looking for an all-in-one machine you can get an eMac for about that price, but for someone like me who has a pantload of extra hardware laying around it is a good cheap option.

Tomorrow we are going to do chest and triceps at the gym tomorrow, I think I may actually get Kelly into the free weight room to work out with me. I was looking at some protein supplements tonight while we were waiting to go tanning and that shit is expensive. It would cost about 100 dollars a month just for protein powerder. I should just eat a nice bloody steak everyday for that kind of money. Mmmmmm bloody steak. Mike also mentioned to me that there may be an Ultimate game tomorrow afternoon. I think Kevin should get off early tomorrow and come out and play (hint hint). I also bought some lifting gloves this evening when we were at Wal-Mart. I’m getting creepy callouses on my hands so hopefully the gloves will reduce them. A computer geek can’t have rough hands, its un-geek like. People may actually get the impression that we work out, instead of sitting in the basement with cases of coffee and smokes.

Kelly and I also picked up Friends Season Two from Wal-Mart. They had it on-sale for 30 dollars, which is only $1 more expensive then it is online right now. We did manage to finish watching Friends First Season this evening. According to the list Kelly keeps on her Powerbook we have 11 DVDs to watch not including the entire Friends Season Two set.

This afternoon I had to go to my medical exam for my life insurance that I just picked up through USAA. Why is it that when I have to piss into a cup, either I can’t squeeze a drop or can only get enough to fill a shot glass. It was even worse in the Air Force when you have some guy standing close enough to you that you can feel his breath on the back of your neck, and the full length mirror in front of the toilet so he can watch every move. I used to dread coming into work in the mornings and seeing the First Shirt in the office. I just knew that he was looking for me to send me over to the clinic. I had more piss tests then anyone I knew. It drove me crazy.

OK thats enough, perhaps it is time to go to bed, so I can get up in the morning and go work out. I really don’t want to do an hour and some change of cardio, then go out and play Ultimate for another 2 hours or whatever. I best just get it out of the way in the morning, so I can rest until the afternoon.
