Finally…

Smallville finally premier tonight and Clark is finally flying!!! Lois looks a little old but she’s cute and should mix things up between Clark and Lana. The third season is being released on DVD November 16th. Now why can’t every other series keep up like that?!

I finally got all the stuff ready for a mass mailing to casting directors (CDs). Casey has a box of envelopes to mail in the morning, along with more stamps to buy. That should do me for now. In a few weeks or at least before the end of the year, I’m going to do a mailing to talent managers but I’m gonna give it a little bit.

I finished reading ‘The Juror’ tonight. It was pretty boring and I don’t recommend – it’s a good thing it was in audio format or I don’t think I could have kept with it.

Nothing exciting happening

Nothing exciting happened today. Skipped the gym, went to work, went to an audition in Koreatown (kinda scary and unbelievably busy cattle call), returned something to Linens’ N Things twice today, looked for something for Nicky at Big Lots (scary too, won’t go in there again), ran a couple of other errands, and then came home and have been working on putting together submissions for casting directors. Yes folks, this what I’ve done today is an all day ordeal in this city – you have no idea. I have managed to get in a couple of chapters in the book ‘Fashionistas’. It’s pretty good so far, I like the way the chapters are laid out. After a breezy day yesterday of around 70, it’s warmed back into the 80s again (let’s hope for beach weather this weekend) although I hear in the Springs it’s getting pretty nipply out and there’s a chance of snow. I say, I’m glad I’m not there but Casey’s ready to move back because of that. Well I posted today. It’s short and to the point.

More work

On Thursday, October 7th I will be working on the new film ‘Bewitched’ starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. I don’t know what I’m gonna be doing in it because the recording the message I responded to said that you need to be tall, blonde, cute, tall, and be smaller than a size 6 and that we would be young starlets and she also mentioned Samantha. Is it some weird fantasy thing where they’re going to make us all look like Samantha? I don’t know. I’ll let you know as I find out. I had an audition today for a feature called Hung that is about a girl that has a sex change operation, pretty funny script so far – not a very big part I’m just a girl with a dog but like I said good script. I have another audition tomorrow for Love at Harvard (don’t know what it’s about) but hey what the heck.

Other than that I don’t know what I’m gonna do for the rest of the week. We’re running pretty low on groceries and so a trip to the commissary is in order. Megan and I are supposed to be going shopping this week so other than that, not too much else going on.

Yesterday we hung out with Megan & Jason at Hooters on Hollywood Boulevard and watched the football games. It was like overload with all the games going at once. I was primarily watching the Broncos game, since the Chiefs weren’t on a TV I could see I kept my attention focused (even though they lost). I’m not playing fantasy football so I can just go for the teams I like. I was looking up games for Casey and I to actually go to and wouldn’t you know it the Chiefs are playing the Broncos on the 19th of December (we get there the 22nd). Well we could always go to a Chargers game and root for the away team. Hockey is right around the corner and since Casey and I haven’t gone to an Av’s game together and I’ve only gone once to an Av’s game period, we might go see them play the Kings. It’s amazing how we’re willing to drive more than an hour to see the away team in L.A. but we never did when we were in Denver and it would have been closer and not as long of a wait. Oh well. Gotta keep busy.

I’m glad everyone is enjoying ALL of the pics I posted. It took me awhile since I don’t resize them but I think it was worth the wait. To those that don’t know unless you’re creepy and I don’t know you, to save any of the pictures you can right click them or apple click if you have a Mac and save them to your computer.

Beginning of the weekend

I finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and have finished the first 6 chapters of the Order of the Phoenix. I’m waiting for Casey to finish downloading the rest. I figure since I’ve read all the others I should probably finish up the rest of the series. I have to say that the movies are just as good as the books if not better for the visual people out there. In actual book form, I just started reading It’s all Your Fault: How to Make it as a Hollywood Assistant. It’s an easy read and much more enjoyable than The Agency.

Today Casey and I went to IKEA and Target for a little home decorating things. At IKEA we got some coasters and red wine glasses and at Target we bought some lamps for our bedroom. I still want to get some “fall” throw pillows but IKEA was out so I’m gonna have to go to Linens N Things or Bed Bath and Beyond. I wouldn’t mind so much buying things at different stores if it weren’t such an ordeal (Julie can attest to that).

After shopping, Casey and I went to Nicky’s where Casey installed the new computer. Apparently it wasn’t a bad modem, it’s the Christian ISP that they have that was cuasing IE not to load. Get DSL!

For those that are intersted and if I haven’t mentioned before, Nicky and Alexis have been making jewelry (necklaces, earrings, and bracelets) so check out her site and let me know or her know if you’re interested in anything. For those in California (or elsewhere) she is having a jewelry party on October 8th. If/when Nicky posts more pictures you’ll be able to get a first hand looked at her creativity.

After a blackout while walking, Grandpa is at Memorial Hospital under observation. It sounds like he’ll be doing fine but this further goes to show that he does not need to be watching kids for anymore.

We got Jersey Girl and Will & Grace season 3 in the mail yesterday. We’re on disc 2 of Will & Grace and should be done with it before the end of the evening.

ooh toes!

I guess we’re keeping everyone on their toes (ooh toes, ala Friends for those that remember that episode) with this recent flood of posts. We just got back from Nicky’s where she made a yummy, low cholesterol (well except for the apple pie) meal and we watched Survivor and CSI. I wasn’t too impressed with this preimer especially compared to the last two seasons, hopefully it’ll get better. Casey tried to install a modem in their new computer but for some reason it wasn’t working so we’re going back down there on Saturday to put a new one in. Emily is getting so big and is sweet – she laughs all the time.

The last two days have just been nightmares. After the Alias ordeal yesterday, I expected an easygoing day today. That was not the case. I tried logging into one of my classes while I was at work and for some reason it was no longer showing up. I ended up calling PPCC and asking what the deal was she said she would have to email someone else and find out why “I dropped the class”. She showed “I” dropped it but then said if the instructor dropped me it would say the same thing and maybe he dropped me because I was a “no show”. How could I be a no show when I emailed him when he asked to say I was taking the class, I post to the discussion boards several times a week, and have already taken a test??? So all day she is emailing different people and waiting for them to get back with her and then cc’ing me. Come to find out, the instructor dropped me in error. So after this they contact financial services to see if I’ve paid for my other two classes and I haven’t because I’ve been waiting for my loan to go through that PPCC was supposed to be processing. Well they weren’t gonna add this class back to my schedule till I was paid so I paid off my tuition. Six hours after finding out I was dropped, I’m told it should all be worked out and I can log-in after 10 tomorrow morning. Ugh! What an ordeal!

Then the last two days my allergies have been going crazy. Probably because I’ve run out of medicine and it’s now worse than before because I’m used to not having as severe of symptoms anymore. Instead of just being able to get new prescriptions, I have to go back in because I’m having side effects from the medications the allergist was having me try. I tried calling this morning when I first got into work and I had to leave a message. I still haven’t been called back and I’m all itchy. I’m thinking about switching allergists, especially after seeing she billed my insurance company $700 + lab fees for my initial visit and then my having to pay $11 parking for 45 minutes because the doctors don’t want to pay it. Why not, they can obviously afford it.

Then to make matters even worse. When I got home today there was a statement in the mail from the City of Los Angeles traffic division. It stated that they had sent someone out to review my dispute to our parking ticket from 1-2-04 and it was deemed the sign was visible. Yeah that’s cause it was moved and it’s now 8 months later! So they said I could dispute it again in court or pay $95. Well the original bill was only $45 so after waiting on hold and telling the operator this, they said I was right that since I disputed the original ticket in the given period I only have to pay the original amount. I hate this effin’ city!!!

Casey was a sweetie and did bring me flowers after my hellacious day! So I’m feeling better about stuff now but I’m really looking forward to the weekend.

For Nicky & Alexis

Yesterday I went on a rush call IN COMPTON (it’s scary even in the daylight to be white, let alone blonde). Well of course someone gave me the wrong directions confusing where Santa Monica was located (uh, is that south of the airport?) and then giving me the directions to the wrong freeway (the 110 and the 10 are two different freeways MILES apart). So anyway I get down there 45 minutes late to work on ALIAS. I was supposed to be a photo double for some blonde chick who is either a regular on the show or a guest star. They brought two of us in and chose the other girl (she was older, shorter, shorter hair, and less curvy) but they kept me around in case something went wrong when she did her scenes. So I sat for 5 hours in a Compton cemetery next to graves in the grass IM’ing Casey. The book I brought to read, ‘The Agency’ was really dry and boring and I forgot headphones for my iPod. The cool thing is when I took the shuttle from the parking lot to the set, I got to sit behind Michael Vartan and he even talked to me. Jennifer Garner (or Jen as she likes to be called) was very accessible and friendly. She said Hi to me when I walked on set and then sat like 15 feet away reading her book and is a fellow diet cokehead. This is still going on my resume though cause I was there to work. I did prefer making a movie to doing television but some of that may have to do with the fact I was actually working, had something better than a port-a-potty, and was not in Compton. Well it’s an experience I won’t forget.

On the shuttle back to the car, I had a mini crisis thinking I had lost my keys. Fortunately they were just in a pocket I hadn’t checked yet. Don’t want to be lost in Compton after dark. There were already enough ghetto birds and sirens during the daytime (seriously). For those that are amused by this (I’m not being mean) there were 6 fried chicken places along Rosecrans from Compton to the 405 and 2 El Pollo Locos (do those count?). 😉

Note to self – watch Alias.

So Watcha Want

“Camera phones SUCK”, from left to right Mike D, MCA, AdRock

We just got back from Beastie Boys in Long Beach, what a great show. They opened with Sure Shot and then another track from Ill Communication, lots of old and new stuff mixed in, and then for the close they played So What’cha Want and Ch-Check It Out. At this point Kelly and I started to make our way toward the exit so that we could be ahead of the crowd after the encore was over and what a good choice it was because just as we got to the main doors out of the Arena the B-Boys came back out on the balcony right over our heads in the stands with the fans for Intergalactic, it was awesome. I have to rank this show up there pretty high, right up there with Deftones and the first time I saw Tool.

So now its late (12:06), I just finished downloading XP with SP1a slipstreamed for use at work since I’m to lazy to slipstream the service packs on my own. I have to go and get my cholesterol check tomorrow morning, hopefully it will be down to somewhat of a normal range so that I don’t have to go on medication. Perhaps i will work out in the morning, one last time before my blood is taken again…….. maybe, it late now.

Updated:
I almost forgot the best part of the concert. Mix Master Mike did a scorching intro and then they rolled out a little lit pavilion looking thing where the B-Boys with Money Mark where all dressed up in 70’s baby blue suits and had all of their instruments. They played Futterman’s Rule (Ill Communication), Something’s Got to Give (Check Your Head), and what i thought was I Don’t Know but I could be wrong about that one because I haven’t listened to Hello Nasty in a long time. Either way when the B-Boys jam they make some great tunes, and seeing AdRock on guitar with the Wha Wha and MCA on a stand-up bass was sweet.

slow day

Today has been dragging by. It’s probably in anticipation of tonight’s Beastie Boys concert. Casey should be coming home pretty soon so we can beat the traffic down to Long Beach.

I’m watching the pilot of LAX which aired last night. It’s ok so far, I’ll give it a little bit to grow on me. This has more promise than Joey. After Monday night football, we started watching the Benefactor but that didn’t impress me that much.

I finished ‘How to Make Love Like a Pornstar’ which was pretty good. I can’t believe the stuff that Jenna has gone through. It’s a worthwhile read for those that can stomach it. It’s an interesting look at the things that happen to people to put them where they are. ‘Little Earthquakes’ by Jennifer Weiner came out today but I’ll probably hold off on that and try to catch up on some of the other books I still have. I’ll post the title when I begin.

catching up

We finally got a bunch of crap fixed on the 4Runner. We waited so long to do this stuff it hurt a lot more than it should have when we picked it up today. 🙁 But it’s done and at least we can drive it now. Or Casey can drive it now. Time to make him an appointment to get a new drivers’ license and register to vote!

So I didn’t want to talk about anything I was doing in case I jinxed it so here’s a wrap up of my acting stuff last week. Tuesday I had a call back for a Sizzler commercial audition I had gone to on Friday. I was supposed to do background and possibly under 5 work on the Young and the Restless last Wednesday but it was supposed to be a 2 day call and I couldn’t make it to the Thursday because of auditions. I auditioned for the Consumer Electronics Show 2005 which is going to take place in Vegas in January for a booth girl or presentation job. Then that night I had an audition with Doug Bennett at the Don Gerler Agency. He wanted to rep me but I’m not gonna do it. We shot the shit for 2 hours and then he rushed me through my monologue, then he told me I needed to take this guys’ “class” before he would rep me. I looked at this teachers’ site and it’s a freakin’ scam, an expensive scam and he’s a DICK (he left a message and you could tell). This is so messed up. Then he was asking about my political affiliations, I saw him yell FUCK at someone who walked into his office and then proceeded to chew her out and then threaten to call the cops on HER, and was saying all kinds of stuff about sex. This isn’t right, even for Hollywood. I reported him to SAG so hopefully I didn’t do the wrong thing and he did end up being legit.

This weekend we went to Manhattan Beach and just laid out and swam a little. It was so nice there, not a lot of Mexicans and a very clean surfer beach. Then Sunday we went to Jason’s birthday lunch at Olive Garden and then cake and ice cream at his parents’ house. We’re going back down to Nickys’ on Thursday for the premier of the new season of Survivor!!! Yah we’re geeks! Everything is premering this week, except Sopranos but hopefully it won’t be too long.

Other than that, my classes suck. I thought I was through with all these core classes. I can’t wait to be done!
