Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Mmmmm Turkey. Well I think the turkey will be ready at about 1 or so, and I think Matt and Julie will be here about then also. Unfortunatley I have to fly back to DC on Sunday morning for another 3 weeks but hopefully this will be the last time that I have to go there. We drove in to my folks house on Tuesday night after Kelly got out of skool. I’m kinda sad that we don’t get to spend more time, but I gots to go to work.

I bought Diablo 2 AGAIN, since the discs that I had didn’t have the Apple install packages on them. So I spent 20 bones and bought another set of them. BUT Diablo runs in Classic mode on OS X, so that is kinda crappy. But at least now I can play on Bnet with it.

Not much to say right now, I hope that everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.

OK back to “work” &ltsnicker&gtYawn…..

I’m ready to strangle anyone who gets in my way, or tries to keep me here in DC any longer. But thankfully I will be leaving tomorrow afternoon from Dulles. YAY. Four weeks is just to long to be gone, but I think that I will have all of next week off so I can go and visit my folks.

We have been staying very busy latley, with trips into headquarters and such and working on existing problems in the lab. Its just pantloads of fun. I did buy the first Family Guy box set, and we have been watching clips of that every now and again when we have a break. That is the funniest show EVER.

I was going to post the other day, but once I start typing I lose interest really fast, my attention span is that of a fruit fly. And its been getting worse since I have been here. So here are some updates from what has been going on around here.

I played my first disc golf tournament last Saturday with a few of the guys from work. My partner (Doubles Tourney) was this cat that I work with Drew, and this was his first tournament too. But I was ON, my drives were great, but as always my short game was shitty. The course was tree filled, but I kept chanting my mantra “More Air then Trees”. So Drew and I ended up taking 2nd in the Amateur class.

Umm lets see what else have I been doing…… I still have a pantload of homework that I have to do. We are supposed to do journal entries for each week, something like a half a page or so, but I haven’t done any so far, so I will have about 5 pages of crap to spew out within a week or two. BOOOOOO.

Not much else I can think of right now, I’m just focused on getting home so that is blocking out anything else I may have to say.

Thanksgiving and such

As of Sunday, Casey and I have decided we are going to Missouri to spend Thanksgiving with family. We’ll be leaving on Tuesday afternoon and returning Saturday or Sunday. I don’t think we’re going to have time to see Randi but I’m going to see if they can come down and visit.

I directed tonight in my Beg. TV Production class. It was as bad as it seemed. The instructor kept telling me I was doing well so that’s something. I got really stressed out after practicing when it was for the grade and messed up some but I hope I still got an ‘A’.

I just finished editing and rewriting my DVD review on Legally Blonde 2 for my Writing for the Media class. After doing so well on the last two assignments, I hope I can keep it up with this one. Tomorrow we have an in-class writing assignment that we have to due. A subject will be assigned to us and by the end of class, we have to have a 600 word paper completed. Luckily we can work in pairs, otherwise it is highly doubtful we’d be able to get it done.

Zzzzzzzz.

2 out of 3

Well I have my applications in for Cal State L.A. and Cal State Northridge. I’ve been trying to work on my essays for U.C.L.A. but it’s slow going. I don’t know why U.C.L.A. would be lucky to have me. What kind of crap is that to make people who want to go to college tell the college why they’d be lucky to have you? Shouldn’t it be the other way around, where the college is trying to tell you why you should go there? Well it has to be done, so when I’m done procrastinating I’ll actually submit it.

I accomplished a ton of cleaning today. There’s still a ton of cleaning and organizing to do before we move. I have a bunch more stuff to take to the Goodwill truck.

I’m once again watching movies to try and find clips to support my groups theory in my nonverbal communications class. Our theory is that as children grow older touch interactions with their parents become less frequent. I’ve already gotten 3 of the surveys that I’ve sent out returned so I’ve made some progress with that part of the assignment. Thank you to those of you that have returned your questionnaires.

I went to California Pizza Kitchen with my parents last night. Then we went back to their place and watched 2 Fast 2 Furious and drank some wine. From what I saw of 2 Fast 2 Furious, it seemed better than the first one. Who would have thought?

Elf

Just got back from seeing Elf with Marla. It was so cute. The North Pole set is reminiscent of the old claymation movies. And just as I suspected, Jon Faverau had a cameo. Other cameos were by Kyle Gass and Artie Lange. I just got off the phone with Randi and am now coooking dinner and watching Will & Grace. Jack Black is co-starring as a doctor and his fiance, Laura Kightlinger, as the nurse. Elf is the first of many movies coming out this holiday season.

Isn’t life grand.

I sure do love my job, I will have been here for four weeks when this trip is done, and THEN I get to come back after Thanksgiving. BOOOOOO. Not only that we have the BIGGEST clown coming in on Monday to “help out” with doing PRs. This ass-clown is the cause of about half of the PRs, but he is still coming in. GRRRRRRRR.

I was totally unprepared to be in town this long, I packed two long sleeve shirts and no jackets or sweaters. Its wicked cold here. So tonight I have to go to the Mall AGAIN. Maybe buy a jacket or something.

I’m gonna go play some frisbee golf this weekend with some of the guys from work, I may have to go score some dics, but Joe said that he has a million in the trunk of his car. So maybe I can find a Valk or a Dragon and a putter, and maybe a mid-range. And I think the weather is supposed to be up into the 50’s on Sat.

It looks like I won’t have to be on-site in LA until at least Jan 5 of next year. So that is a bonus, except for the fact that we have to pay a pantload of money each month to hold our apartment. But it will give us plenty of time to visit with everyone before we hit the road. I need to find some time to go out and visit with my folks before we take off. From the sound of things I think that getting time off is going to be a pain in the ass.

Kelly ordered 100tc sheets from Overstock the other day, and they are supposed to be delivered today. Mmmmm sheets….. I miss my bed. I can’t stand sleeping on hotel beds every night. I woke up last night and played Soldier of Fortune until about 3 this morning and then went back to bed until about 6:30. I’m SOOOOO tired this morning. 🙂

Happy Birthday Camryn!!!

Happy Birthday to our niece, Camryn, who turned 1 today!

Casey found out today that he will be in D.C. until next Friday the 21st. That means he’ll have been gone for a month but then he gets the week of Thanksgiving off before having to go out again. I sent out our deposit and first months rent for the new apartment (ouch). Just watching Say Anything before heading to bed.

I did it

I went and saw Matrix Revolutions on the IMAX. I wasn’t disappointed because I went in with lowered expectations. For those of you that haven’t seen it, let me just say this: the end is pretty inevitable considering Neo is “the one”.

After the movie, we all (the family minus Casey and Marvin) went to Ruby’s Diner. I’ve been to the one in Redondo Beach twice and this one was a bit of a letdown. The prices are higher than Chili’s and they don’t include fries. The menu is much more limited than the extensive 4 pages or so that the one in R.B. has. I was really looking forward to this sandwich that has feta cheese (mmm feta) on it. The servers also need to estimate the waiting time a little better. When we put our name on the list, they said it’d be 15-20 minutes. Well 45 minutes later we were being seated. Then 3 different waitresses came by before we could order. Maybe after the newness has faded I’ll go back (if we’re still here). The food is decent but for the price, location, and extras Red Robin might be a better alternative.

Yesterday my mom and I went to the mall. Yes, again. I had some birthday money I wanted to spend and she my loyal shopping buddy. I bought a red Nine West purse at Foley’s for…$5.99. I’m glad I waited to catch it on sale!

We had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, which we are both now boycotting due to the price. We order the salad bar and it was $7, then I was looking forward to getting French Onion soup too but that was another $3. I think $10 for soup and salad at a chain is a little much. We ordered margaritas which were sickly sweet and lacked any alcohol. Cough syrup has more alcohol and tastes better.

Back to shopping. I bought this super cute tart burner at Yankee Candle Company. I’ve been waiting for a style I like and I found one so I had to buy it right then. Next we went to American Eagle where they were having awesome deals. I found a pair of cargos on the clearance rack, a sweater, and a pair of jeans. I got a $15 gift card free for use in December, 10% off two of the items, and a half dozen assorted coupons for the next 2 months! Can’t complain about that. Old Navy was actually having a pretty big sale…again. I tried on a shopping cart full of stuff, probably 24 things. (I’m just guessing cause the max number was 8 and I walked out to exchange stuff at least twice.) So more new clothes. I’ve satisfied for now. There’s only two things left in the whole store (Old Navy) that I’m still interested in buying.

We left the mall and checked out Shoe Carnival cause I saw an ad for this huge sale on tv. The selection is very limited so I’m gonna hold out for a Famous Footwear sale. I’m a sucker for a sale!

I found out on Friday that the Guiseppe’s commercial I’m in, is now airing. I don’t know what station or at what time but Marla’s trying to figure it out. I’m on my way to being a SUPERSTAR!!!

So much for a day off…

So much for a day off. Yesterday Marla and I worked on the avid but got frustrated after 2 1/2 hours of work so didn’t finish what we were supposed to. Oh well. I don’t think it’s really going to matter. Now Sharon and I are waiting to digitize more of our footage. Apparently we have like 10 tapes that we have to go through and we’ve only made it through one. We’re taking a break right now so another group can get some work done but we plan on being here for most of the day so I won’t be home for awhile. 🙁

Casey is getting off work early today to see the Matrix. I’m going with my parents on Sunday to see it on the IMAX. Good times.

I’ll post more later…

I’m at a loss of new ideas for a poll. Deal with it. 😉
