Come and gone

Another week has come and gone. Saturday my mom came over to help with Brady again so we could get some sleep. I was able to sleep but unfortunately Casey had to do maintenance for work. Lucky for my mom Brady was on her best behavior while she was here so she didn’t have to deal with the episodes that we’ve been seeing all day for the past 9 days. After I was up and ready, my mom and I went to Target to fill Brady’s prescription and some groceries. While we were gone, Brady was inconsolable and would not calm down for Casey until finally wearing herself out crying and going to sleep. That night Casey made chicken parm and tiramisu to celebrate Grandma, Grandpa, and John’s birthday. We had a great time and everyone got to enjoy a happy, sleeping Brady. After having the family, Sherry, and Alex here it’s apparent that we’ll need a larger kitchen when we get to Austin.

Brady still seems to be in quite a bit of discomfort from the reflux. It’s been quite an ordeal trying to get the Prevacid in her. Our two options are using the syringe with a little water to dissolve the tab or putting it in her cheek. Neither of them work remarkably well but Casey thinks he finally got the entire tab (technically it’s only half) in her today but putting it in her mouth and immediately putting her bink in there to get her to swallow. I guess that would explain not seeing much of a difference in her condition yet. I’m going to wait until Thursday (a full week from when she was last seen) before calling her pediatrician back and finding out where to go from here – whether that’s an increased dose or a different med. Hopefully if she’s actually getting the Prevacid in her, it’ll make her feel better. In the meantime, I’ve also cut out dairy and chocolate and am limiting my caffeine intake to hopefully alleviate at least a little of her discomfort.
