Road Trip

Brady made her first “road trip” today. It wasn’t really a road trip but the longest she’s been in the car ever. We left this morning at 7:30a (we got breakfast on the way too) to drive up to DIA to pick my grandma up and she slept the entire way. Her plane wasn’t arriving until 10 but knowing that she would be hungry again before getting all the way back down here, I planned it so we could park in the waiting zone and she could eat and get her diaper changed. Things ended up working out pretty perfectly and she was pretty content. Casey dropped me off at the terminal and drove around with Brady (who only squawked briefly when she saw me get out of the car before falling back to sleep again). It took about 30 minutes inside the airport for me to find where my grandma was wheeled to (she has a cell phone but she doesn’t like it or use it) and get her down to the arrivals area and loaded up. Brady was pretty fitful sleeping on the way back but didn’t start crying until we hit Monument Pass (about 20 minutes from my parent’s house). She sure did build up an appetite by the time we stopped again.

Hopefully my uncle will be taking my grandma back to the DIA when she leaves so we don’t have to do a repeat any time soon. Justin, Robin, and Jude are coming to visit us next month (!!!!) but only Casey will be able to drive to DIA and pick them up because our car won’t fit that many people especialy considering two car seats and luggage. But hopefully by her staying at home she’ll be nice and full, rested, and happy when everyone gets here!

Today Brady was having a super fussy day and crying whenever I wasn’t holding her (even if someone else was, unless she was asleep) with so many people eager to hold her but we managed to make it through. She’s been asleep in her crib for close to an hour now. Here’s hoping for another good night! Last night, she did wake up once after I laid her down but I was able to get her back to sleep by rubbing her head. She ended up sleeping a full 9 hours and I ended up waking her up since she needed to eat before we left.
