Finishing Up

I went today to finish buying up our Christmas decorations.  I returned the craptastic stocking hangers that would not even hold stockings to Lowe’s and went to Target where they got a new shipment of holders.  The stockings look really good on the fireplace, although now I’m wondering if I should have bought two of the snowflake holders as well (two is all I saw) but I’m not sure if two snowflake holders and two regular would look good.  I also picked up some lights so Justin and Robin can finish the outside of their house since their Targets are all sold out.  We were guessing and thinking that light choices and availability are probably a regional thing as there were quite a few of the lights they wanted here and were sold otu there.  Casey and I were talking about needing some more special (not so basic) ornaments for our tree so I picked up some of those and some ribbons as well.  I’m thinking our tree is finally complete.

I may go by my parents’ house tomorrow and raid their decorations to help finish off the rest of the house since we’re celebrating Christmas here this year.  The dining room set I ordered is supposed to ship tomorrow so I’m hoping we get it by next week so we’ll have plenty of time to stain/paint it before the big day.  Casey and I have been talking and he’s most likely going to try his hand at prime rib this year and then between mom and I wehe ‘ve got the rest of the side dishes covered.  We went to the commissary this past Saturday and stocked up (thus the full fridge and freezer pics).

I’m pretty bummed that the Broncos and the Chiefs lost yesterday.  Who’d have thought?  I guess we’ll be lucky to get a playoff spot at this point in the season.  The big game – Denver versus Kansas City on Sunday at Mile High.  Casey and I have been talking all season about attending but now Casey’s on call and he and James have this big project so I guess we’ll have to wait till next year.  When its between the two I have to go Broncos otherwise I cheer for them individually!
