Wow I’m not bleeding.

I don’t know what it is about me, but usually when I put a new computer together I end up slicing and dicing my hands up pretty good. But not this evening.

FedEx delivered most of my parts at about 3:50 today, but I still had to drive out to Falcon to pick up my video card at 5 o’clock, and I was going to swing by Dallas’s house to drop some stuff off that I had downloaded. I ended up being a little early, and had to kill some time. After I picked up the video card, I went over to Dallas’s and geeked around for a little bit, then came home to start assembly.

I raped and pillaged the PVR for fans and hard drives, leaving 160GB in the PVR and putting 110GB in my gaming machine. I put the drive with all my mp3s in it, and a 40GB drive to house Alcohol images and the OS. I have already installed XP on it twice thus far this evening. I somehow got it to go into a BSOD loop, I couldn’t boot into the desktop at all. So I’m trying again, but this time with the current nForce drivers, and Detonator drivers.

Hopefully the rest of my fans will be here tomorrow, so I can get everything in, finish cable management, and seal up the case. It took me probably 20 minutes just to install the 80mm fan onto my heatsink with the Thermalright included clips.

Everything seems to be doing all right now, I guess I will run Windows Update now and let it get busy with the 35 updates that it needs.

I was taking picutes of the hardware installation for those that are curious about the goods (Justin). But I’m too lazy right now to upload them, perhaps tomorrow.

Kelly is going through my class schedules for PPCC online. It looks like my World History class is going to be pretty intense, while my Geography class being fairly easy. Bleh skool. But if I can draw myself away from my gaming computer I don’t think I will have a problem with getting them done in a timely fashion.

OK I’m gonna try and finish getting this computer up and running, at least to the point that I can mount an image with Alcohol and it is running stable. Its pretty cool in the apartment right now, so we will see if it is still stable tomorrow when it starts to warm up. 🙂
