Just got up a little while ago. Went in hunt of the excercise room wouldn’t you know that it was packed and not a single machine available for use. Maybe I will do some situps before I head downstairs to head to the site.

Woke up to Stern this morning. I really wish we would get syndication in the Springs.

I need to dive into the options of PHPNuke to see if I can fix this damn date and time thing. The server is always a day ahead of us and the time is always screwed up unless I go into PHPMyAdmin and reset the timestamp for EVERY POST. And that is a huge pain in the ass.

I watched Akira last night before I went to bed I really wish they would make a sequel to it. I really think it could be great. Also I think Cowboy Bebop the Movie is being released on DVD soon so I’m gonna have to pick that up, since that is probably my favorite anime series.

I sure hope all the hardware is at the site today. Another guy on my team was telling me this was a non-standard installation with 3 cabinets, a huge disk-array, and the have a Sunfire server here. So I’m excited to play with all the hardware. If the hardware is there when we get to the site it should only take us into the early afternoon to get it done. Then tomorrow we are checking out of the hotel and driving over to Ft. Worth and do the site over there. That one we should be able to knock out in about 2 hours. Then head to the airport and get the hell out of here.

Grrrr.I actually have to go back to work, and that sucks.I’m stuck on a little ass plane right now, we are about 150 miles out from Dallas right now, according to the last update from the pilot.Charlie said that he would meet me at baggage claim since he is getting in about 6 minutes ahead of me.I think the captain might have said we are getting in early so that would be even sweeter.

I finally loaded Mandrake 9.1 on my laptop last night.I got Apache and MySQL configured.I think I’m going to take a try at configuring BIND and use the PRNTSRV computer as a DNS server.Adelphia has been really pissing me off latley.They have such shitty service, I would love to mow them all down in a hail of automatic rifle fire.

OK now I have a chance to finish my post, the damn flight attendant made me put my laptop away because we were landing.I should kick her ass too.

I had to install AOL(Hell) on my laptop cause I didn’t want to get my earthlink account reactivated, but you know what I have found out.AOL 8.0 is faster then all previous versions its GREAT.GRRRRRRRRRRR.
We don’t have to be downstairs to go to the site until 9 tomorrow, so I’m gonna try and find the weight room and get a quick workout in, gots to burn off the burger and beer I had for dinner.

OK its time for me to get some rest, I think I will lay in bed and watch Akira.I haven’t seen that for awhile.

Kelly and I just got back from the base, and Best Buy.We had to run a few errands before we went to the gym, like getting Kelly’s Hometown Hotties form notarized, and getting a haircut.Then we went to the gym.A little cardio today.As we were leaving the gym I swung by the parade grounds hoping that I could catch peoples playing Ultimate.I haven’t played in quite some time, and am dying for a game or three.

Then we went to Best Buy and bought 4 new DVDs, Mary Poppins, Blow, The Breakfast Club, and Silence of the Lambs.We got a great deal on Mary Poppins, it was regularly 22.99 and we price matched it with Media Play for 14.99.”Show me the money”.

So now we are eating our late lunch, and then start doing some laundry.Since I got my itinerary this morning informing me that I’m going to be going to Dallas/Ft. Worth tomorrow.I still don’t know for sure if I’m going to be sent to Las Vegas or not, but there is still speculation.Hopefully I will only be gone until Friday, but if I do get sent to Vegas I probably won’t be back until Tuesday.I guess they figure that I have been making too much money and working to little.Which is true since I haven’t worked a single day since October 16th of last year.

I went to the VA this morning and had my knees and feet X-Rayed so maybe I can score some disability sometime in the near future.And extra 2-300 dollars a month would make for a nice new car, perhaps a new 4Runner. :-)I also received an email today saying that I may actually have to go soon.This weekend to be exact.Yes I am tentatively scheduled to return to Las Vegas to do a server install.Its gonna suck to not have Justin helping me do the install.Him and I can rack and wire a full server cabinet in about 90 minutes, we had that shit down to a science.But Kelly and I are thinking about driving out, and taking a couple of extra days in Vegas for an early Anniversary present to each other.Maybe we can stay at the Hard Rock while we are there.

I was trying to convince Justin this evening to go with some sort of CMS system for his website.So he decided to try out PHPNuke, but instead of testing on a Linux system he is going to take the hard road and try to get it all running on Windows 200 using the Win32 binaries for Apache and MySQL.Yikes!

OK back to the movie, we picked up 007:The World is Not Enough today and its fairly long .

I figured out that the RSS feeds were really slowing down the page generation by the server.It was taking around 3 seconds to create the page but as soon as I took the news feeds off it dropped down to .09 seconds to make the page.So from now on anyone who wants to add an RSS feed do it thru the Your Account link.

Apprently nobody wants to sign up for user accounts.Only Kevin, Mike, Blake, and Justin have accounts thus far.What is up with that?

We went to the mall earlier today and Kelly picked up some things at Bath & Body.Jim and I went down to Border’s Books and looked around.I was looking at some Perl and PHP books, but I didn’t pick up anything.

So now we are just chilling here watching French Kiss, I have to get up off my butt here soon so I can start cooking dinner.I’m gonna make a garlic and rosemary roasted chicken and some kind of veggie.

Finally there is still some sunlight after 6 in the evening.But the bad thing about more daylight is that with the position of our apartment the sunlight makes a bad glare on our TV, so we need to get some darker curtains.Plus the darker curtains will help with our cooling bill this summer by blocking off this damn sliding glass door.

Mmmmm. I am SO hungry. I was trying to find something that I could eat in the car on the way up here and couldn’t find anything. I wasn’t in the mood for fruit right then. I’m hoping we go to Baja Fresh Mexican Grille after we get out of here. Oh how I love their nachos.

Just sitting here, waiting for Casey to get out of his V.A. appointment. Someone is finally doing x-rays on him and itíll be for free. Hopefully, heíll get big money out of this. Itís only been an hour and 20 minutes so far, but they said to expect to be here until 4 (7 1/2 hours). Wow! Casey ís already mentally spent his first few checks. I donít know how long it will be before they tell him the outcome of this appointment. So far Iíve read through 2 chapters of my biology book and skimmed another two. I have an exam tomorrow, so Iím trying to study up. Thereís only 4 weeks of the semester left, so itís about time to buckle down and start studying more.

Yesterday, Casey and I met my parents at the mall. My mom and I both had gotten Bath & Body Works coupons in the mail that we were eager to cash in. My momís coupon was far superior to mine. Hers was $50 off $100 and mine was only $15 off $50. Oh well, they were having some pretty good sales and the money off went a long way. We watched a couple of the DVDs on our ìto watchî list and that takes us down to 5. Harry Potter doesnít come out until Friday so weíll wait until then to make our trip to Best Buy. Weíll be getting some pretty good deals on some of them. Harry Potter 2 is only $15.99 and when you purchase that you can get The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka, or The Goonies for only $7.99 (reg. $19.99). Weíll be getting The Goonies since thatís the only one we donít have. Not much else planned for the rest of the week, just going to the gym, tanning, and The Real World Las Vegas Reunion show (tomorrow). Good times!

I found a good image Gallery script that will integrate into PHPNuke as a module.I only have 3 quick galleries up right now.Usually Kelly is in charge of the pictures but she didn’t want to mess with it tonight.I’m sure we will have quite a few more up tomorrow.But be sure to check them out.

How can one company be so shitty, the DNS servers have been down for the better part of the day.Thus we havn’t been able to hit any sites today.Good thing Trillian was still working, Mike gave me the 2 DNS servers that his system is configured with right now so we are back up and running.FINALLY.

We are watching The Professional right now, Iron Chefs was on but Kelly isn’t a big fan of that show.

I’m gonna try and get some more of the old blog entries inserted into the database.I figured out how to add RSS feeds to the site.I have already managed to get temporarly banned from using the feed from Slashdot.I need to reconfigure the setting so it only updates the headers once an hour.I managed to get the CNN one working fine though.I was trying to find other good sites but nothing has struck me yet.If anyone can think of anything let me know

Kevin brought up PHPNuke.I wish I had set it up instead.It seems to have some better plugins then PHPNuke does.Like a weather module, and a chatbox similar to what Kevin has on his site.I wonder how difficult it would be to output the contents of the database to a flat file so I could just copy and paste into the new DB later.
